Presbyterian Ladies College (PLC), Sydney is a day and boarding school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. Founded in 1888 and situated in Croydon, the College retains its 19th century heritage buildings and gardens alongside modern state-of-the-art facilities.
Project Description
Programmed has been assisting PLC Sydney with painting and paint maintenance for over 25 years. We were recently engaged by the College to repaint the Entrance, Dining Hall and Ground Floor rooms of Shubra Hall, one of the College’s most recognised buildings.

Project Solution
Programmed repainted the interiors of Shubra Hall in a contemporary neutral colour scheme. As a result, the Hall, along with its main entry, assembly hall and dining areas have been fully refreshed, while maintaining its unique heritage decorative finishes. To allow the Hall to remain fully functional during the school term, the project was completed during the two-week school holiday period. Scaffolds were used to reach the high and detailed ceilings without damaging the building.
Project Outcome
The much invigorated painted interiors of Shubra Hall were recognised by the Master Painters Association of NSW, winning the Association’s Award for Excellence in ‘Best Painting of a Heritage Building’ and ‘Commercial Project of the Year’.
