Goodyear Autocare

Countrywide

Project Description

Goodyear Autocare is an elite ‘One Stop Shop’ for tyres, car servicing and mechanical repairs. With over 125 stores around Australia, they keep Australian motorists running.

Goodyear and Programmed have had a business relationship dating back to 2003. In this time we have refreshed, reimaged and maintained the presentation of the Goodyear network. Their latest exercise to keep the network sprightly has seen Programmed designated to refresh not only exterior areas and signage but also fit out interior showroom areas.

Project Solution

The latest full national refresh has a wide scope: repairing, upgrading signage, cleaning, washing, repainting faded and discoloured areas, and replacing assets reaching their end of life, Goodyear have also entrusted us with the refurbishment of its showroom interiors with new paint, furniture, desks, racks, display panels and flooring.

Our in-house design capability meant a turnkey solution able to speed up the approval and implementation process. An important aspect was providing Goodyear 3D concept visualisation so they could visualise, revise and ensure the design for the showroom interiors were exactly what they wanted before any capital to the site transformations was committed.

Leveraging our strong understanding of the Goodyear brand, sites as well as our broad network of offices, our expertise and geographic reach ensured the knowledge and ability to efficiently complete the site overhauls through accurate planning, work scheduling and crew appropriation according to each site’s needs.

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we tailored the scope of works to each Goodyear site. For example in Springwood, QLD, we applied additional special coatings so signs could withstand exposure to extreme weather, while at Hawthorne, SA site, the new site required a full refresh and conversion with careful observance of its heritage overlay.

Where possible, we ensured Goodyear saved costs and minimised their carbon footprint. Re-usable signage structures, after ascertaining their soundness, durability and safety, were retained while faded signs still in good condition recoated to restore lustre. Any decommissioned signage was sorted according to its ability to be recycled.

Project Outcome

Programmed’s ability to provide Goodyear a single integrated resource able meet their multiple needs for painting, signage, interior fit out etc., simplified the task of national implementation for Goodyear. National standards for uniformity and quality provided additional assurance of consistency and safety.

Helping Goodyear incorporate the refresh into a long-term maintenance programme, enabled them to amortise cost of the works plus have the confidence that their 128 sites would continue to retain high standards of presentation.
