Fresh Hope Care The Glen Residential Care Service in Catalina is a modern resort-style retreat set in native bushland of the Eurobodalla coastal region.

Fresh Hope Care recognised that the building exteriors at The Glen were overdue for a repaint. The property had not been painted since it was initially built and was starting to look run down.
Our broad geographic footprint, with a network of offices in close proximity to each of the Fresh Hope Care sites, assured the aged care operator of Programmed’s ability to efficiently deliver a long-term painting maintenance programme across their numerous sites.
The Glen in Catalina would be the first residential care facility to undergo a full external repaint. A team of painters from the Canberra branch as well as an in-house abseiling crew from Wollongong completed the wash down, preparation and repaint of all the areas.
Project Solution
Difficult access and mobilising were some of the challenges Programmed encountered with the rear building at The Glen. Its sloping gardens made it difficult to work around as boom or scissor lifts could not be positioned where necessary.
To combat this, Programmed’s abseiling crew swung into action and were well equipped with roof kits and harnesses to ensure they were safe at all times. Ropes and bosons chairs were also used to access those hard to reach areas. As a result, Programmed completed all the high and difficult access areas safely and within the two-week time frame set by The Glen.
Project Outcome
Having never been repainted since being built, Fresh Hope Care’s The Glen Residential Care site was looking worse for wear. Programmed made it a priority to bring this site back to life and guarantee a fresh and aesthetically pleasing appearance again.
A two-week deadline was set by The Glen, and Programmed was successful in giving the site a facelift within the designated time frame. The site now looks brand new with some subtle colour changes to the feature walls on the ends of the building. The team at Fresh Hope Care The Glen were extremely pleased with the end results.
