As a member of the Financial Controller’s team, the Assistant Financial Accountant will provide support to the Senior Financial Accountant and other team members to ensure financial accounting requirements are met for both Shell Todd Oil Services and Shell NZ.

Key accountabilities of the role include managing key data, assisting with indirect tax compliance work, administration invoicing, and general support across all areas of the Controllers team.

Applicants must hold a NZICA Accounting Technician or Associate Chartered Accountant qualification or be a Degree graduate working towards CA (NZICA) qualifications, with at least two years experience in an accounting environment. While experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred, corporate experience within an engineering, manufacturing or energy environment where a significant amount of change management has been initiated or experienced would also be considered. Proven systems and desktop (primarily Excel) skills are essential, and experience with SAP and database applications is an advantage.

Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Team Leader you will be an integral part of the team responsible for the effective execution of routine, planned and breakdown maintenance activities across the assigned site. As an experienced dual traded I&E Technician you will require minimal supervision while working on a variety of equipment including valves, switches, indicators and detectors. If fault finding is your forte, we want to know how you diagnose the problem.

The successful applicants must have:
• relevant Trade Certificate / Level 4 NZQA National certificate
• excellent communication skills
• experience in effectively coordinating and leading a small team, including the preparation of work packs
• excellent knowledge of HSE systems (CPTW, isolation & hazard management systems)
• previous experience in petrochemical plant maintenance

Dual Trade candidates preferred however consideration will be given to applicants with formal Instrumentation qualifications, supported by comprehensive electrical experience.
